Off the board: As a therapist, Erin is lucky enough to have a job that’s also her special interest. Outside of work, she loves nerding out on spiritual psychology books, dancing, yoga, cooking, traveling, hiking with her dog, and snowboarding
Dream break: Morocco, Africa
Erin first tried surfing while living in Japan with her partner at the time, who was an avid surfer. Although the relationship didn’t last, her love of surfing certainly did. Since then, she has centered many of her travels around surf spots and has had the pleasure of surfing some amazing breaks around the world, with magical Bali being her favourite.
Erin moved back to Nova Scotia in 2018, bought her first board, and has been hitting up Lawrencetown whenever she can, which she admits is honestly not often enough. For her, being in the ocean is medicine. Connecting with the ocean on a surfboard is incredibly addictive, humbling, and the perfect way to come home to her body. Most of all, she says, it’s probably just the most fun thing ever.
